Congressman Mo Brooks on Trump Impeachment Trial: "It's a Diversionary Tactic to Distract from Damaging Socialist Agenda"

Press Release

Washington, DC— Today, Congressman Mo Brooks (AL-05) hammered the Socialist Democrats’ Impeachment Trial as a partisan, political theatrics and diversionary tactic that distracts from the damaging anti-American, pro-Socialist agenda Democrats advance.

Congressman Brooks said, “Forty-five senators have already voted to end the impeachment of Donald Trump because he is a private citizen who cannot be constitutionally tried for treason. Hence, impeachment of President Trump is dead on arrival. The trial is a waste of time. It’s a disservice to the American people, and it ought to end before it even begins.”

Brooks continued, “One reason Socialist Democrats persist with this impeachment scam is that it is a diversionary tactic designed to focus attention away from the damage being done to America by Socialist Democrat policies. Socialist Democrats don’t want the American people focused on Joe Biden’s anti-science Executive Order forcing female athletes to compete against males who pretend to be female. Socialist Democrats don’t want the American people focused on the job losses caused by Joe Biden’s inauguration day revocation of the Keystone XL pipeline permit or the wage suppression and lost job opportunities that will result from Joe Biden killing border wall construction.”

Brooks concluded, “The bottom line is, President Trump did not incite a riot as the Socialist Democrats accuse. He has a First Amendment Freedom of Speech Right to express his views on the 2020 election. The violence at the Capitol was planned in advance by militant elements. Nothing Donald Trump said in his January 6th speech can reasonably be construed to mean he encouraged committing violence. Impeaching President Trump for inciting a riot is akin to impeaching him for Russian collusion— neither of which happened and both of which are Socialist Democrat concoctions.”
